With this work cast from my own body, I imagine belonging within an interdependent network of life-forms. Within this network, any illusion of biological individuality vanishes.
I envision a co-agency with different birds, animals and the vibrant earthly matter without which the web of life would not function.
This vision unites communities both human and non-human affected by climate change and the Anthropocene by materially fusing elements from humans, birds and animals to remember the invisible interdependence between all living organisms – and their precarious futures.
Our awareness of this mutual reliance and shared fate is key to ecological, cultural and economic adaptation. I call on the material imagination to question our ability to care about the effects humans have on other organisms. What have you been: what will you become?
