A series of eight circular low relief timber wall works which have been carved back, exposed to flame and cast with wax. The series is a ritualistic meditation on the planet as a unified living organism.
Using processes of destruction and creation, rare timbers are transformed into floating molecules, which become worlds within worlds.
These hovering planetary molecules are in turn hermetically renewed or ‘re-fleshed’ with the life of sensuous waxes.
The similarities between planetary scenes and molecular level fungal patterns allow micro and macro views to both mirror and contain one another.
The materiality of the works holds a simple presence, yet simultaneously has epistemological and political relevance.
