This series is like a subjective alphabet of touch.
Each individual develops a touch sense perception by means of an interactive subjective experience. Like topographic map lines, fingerprints denote escalating levels of sensitivity to the elements.
Passages within the body fold, enfold and unfold, including and excluding, tracing blood and nerve passages. Volumes of liquid secrete through the body causing rhythms that sensitize and magnetize our senses.
Our outer skin makes possible the greatest risk of all – to touch another.
Others we touch in a myriad of ways, ranging from a dull mundane business swipe, to the electric fire of sexual flirtation, to the type of intimate exchange one has with a soul mate.
Skin performs the threshold of the flesh, the encasement, the body that houses the being which goes way further.
It marks a limit of embodiment, locking out all that is not me and simultaneously providing a handle /compass / antenna for sensing the outside world.
